Asian Barred owlet #Thread

I have photographed (shared earlier here) a pair of Asian barred owlet earlier last month which I found in the backyard of my home in Assam in my recent visit in April.

Today, my bother called me in the morning and told me that he found a chick at the bottom of a tree with a large hole. I ID the bird and he managed a bamboo 🪜 to place the chick in the hole. He noticed 2 more chicks there.

While doing so he was attacked by one the parents. The hole was little wide at its mouth so we concluded that the chick came out of its own while crawling inside the hole.

A few hours later he called me again. SOS. Confused and out of solution.

He found 2 of those chicks on the ground. The youngest one has its eyes closed still.

I asked him to put them back again and put some sort of barrier at the mouth of the hole so that they don't slip again.

Which he did. But he asked me if it is possible that the strong one is pushing the other two out of the hole.

Possible?

This did not got well. Around 8ish, brother heard their cry. All 3 chicks were on the ground. It wqs risky to climb the tree due to stormy weather so he took them home, fed them worm. If survive, they will be put back to the hole tomorrow n partly block the opening

They're kept outside in a 🗑 hanging by the kitchen wall, closest 2 the 🌳 so that parents can hear their cry
@ day break, he saw the parents on a🌳 very near 2 the kitchen
He feed them 🪱 @ 3am n 7 n put them back in2 the hole, nailed a wood plank 2 block it partially

Remember this #Thread? I've some update.
The youngest one didn't survive but the other two have grown big. One took its 1st flight today and landed on a tree near our kitchen. Brother was thrilled to capture some close pics

This fella spent half of the day on this tree. He wld make some sound everytime brother went to see. He even touched it + offered some worm. Finally it flew back to the tree/nest. The other kept watching the adventure from the nest.
