54 Parties (representing 80 countries and 59% of global transport CO2 emissions) have submitted new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in the past couple of months. (2/9)

By region, Latin America leads in terms of submitted NDCs. This wasn't the case back in 2015 when the first NDCs were submitted. It shows that Latin America has strengthened their climate change efforts. (3/9)

8 of the 54 new submissions include a specific emissions reduction target for transport CO2 emissions. In the previous round of NDCs, only 8% of NDCs had such a target, now it's 15%!

These emission mitigation targets are supported through several indirect targets on transport (such as shift to sustainable mobility modes, renewables in transport etc.). (5/9)

The assessment shows that the majority of mitigation measures in the new NDCs focus on IMPROVE. (6/9)

The most common activities under IMPROVE are any measures focusing on electric mobility. Many countries have set electric mobility targets in the new NDCs (7/9):
