Wake County's Office of Equity Affairs has drafted a new "Equity" policy for the district. It will be on the Policy Cmte agenda this Wednesday.
Yes, there are #CriticalRaceTheory elements in it.

Looks like they are drawing from districts that already have embedded CRT into their "Equity" policies.

Wake's OEA is going out of state with one example - Arlington, VA. This one repeats the idea of "inclusion" yet follows the fluid nature of CRT:
"The work of equity is a principle that is constantly evolving, therefore, it is only prudent that the
definition will also evolve."

Another example is Orange County Schools which repeats a few times it seeks the "elimination" of racism in the name of "equity."

Orange County schools, like Wake, has been putting their teachers through 'white privilege' and 'antiracist/antibias' training.

Orange County Schools mission - "will disrupt all forms of discrimination in our school community" by "Challenging intolerant behavior."

I have an article in the works on Orange County and its 'training' and materials such as "Confronting White Nationalism in Schools - A toolkit," and a guide by teachers Union, the NEA.

And here's part of Wake OEA's proposed new "Equity" policy.
"Rooting out and preventing intentional discrimination is a necessary, but not sufficient, condition of equity."
The second image even uses Glenn Singleton's CRT course, "Courageous Conversations" in the language.

There are a series of statements about what the #wcpss "shall" do.
The first one likely links to the plan to assign kids to schools based on their "socioeconomic index score."
Another signals CRT-themed training continues, but it also mentions "curriculum and assessments."

Now's a good time to read my series on Wake County Schools #CriticalRaceTheory problem for more context.

Go back and re-read the proposed "Equity" Policy.
Is it geared to equity of opportunity or equity of outcomes?
NC Supt. @CTruittNCDPI has a true definition of equity.
Look for my interview with her, part one coming this week.
