Today, the #UNSC will discuss @UN Sec-Gen @antonioguterres' report on #UNSCR1701 which clearly shows how #Hezbollah endangers the Lebanese people & stability in the region.
The report presents hundreds of #Hezbollah and Lebanese violations, including crossing the Blue Line, provocations and bearing unauthorized weapons.
"UNIFIL recorded 431 ground violations by Lebanese civilians crossing South of the Blue Line."
The #UNSC should condemn incidents where UNIFIL personnel were attacked & beaten by “civilians”.
UNIFIL has to receive full & uninterrupted access to sites of interest to complete investigations and as part of the mission’s monitoring of the Blue Line in accordance to #UNSCR1701.
The #Hezbollah terror organization continues to harm Lebanon & the Lebanese people, maintaining military capabilities aimed at attacking Israel.
@UNIFIL_ investigations into #Hezbollah violations should be concluded swiftly & promptly, within a well-defined timeframe.
According to the report on #UNSCR1701, #Hezbollah continues to prevent access to @UNIFIL_.
The UNSC must emphasize the importance of the freedom of movement of @UNIFIL_ as stated by the @UN Secretary General in the report on #UNSCR1701:
