Deputy Ambassador to Ukraine @YoavBistritsky today transferred to Lviv’s Deputy Mayor, Andriy Moskalenko, six mega-generators that will guarantee a steady supply of electricity to hospitals and vital civilian infrastructure in the city. Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked announced today that the State of Israel will host about 25,000 citizens of Ukraine. Thread: In the first and immediate stage, Israel will grant temporary protection from repatriation for approximately 20,000 Ukrainian citizens who were present in Israel before the outbreak of fighting, most of them without any legal status. This will be until the danger subsides.

The Foreign Ministry established “Matat” (Donation & Coordination Centre) today with the goal of centralising and coordinating humanitarian aid initiatives and donations by Israeli civil society to the Ukrainian people. At the situation assessment held this morning (6/3), Foreign Minister @yairlapid directed the MFA and @MASHAVisrael – Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation – to continue four main forms of humanitarian aid: 1⃣A field hospital to be established in Ukraine in the next few days in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Sheba Medical Center & the Clalit Health Fund.

2⃣Ongoing transfer of humanitarian aid according to the needs of the Ukrainian authorities & the surrounding countries.

Remarks by FM @yairlapid:

Today is the fifth day of the war in Ukraine. The UN will vote today or tomorrow on a resolution condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Israel will cosponsor and vote in favor of the resolution (1/11) together with a decisive majority of the world’s countries. Israel is thoroughly examining the potential impact of sanctions on Russia. We established an inter-ministry team that will examine the effects and consequences of the sanctions on the Israeli economy and policy. (2/11)

The PFLP, designated as a terrorist group by the U.S. and the E.U., operates an organizational and military apparatus, including a network of civilian institutions whose goal is to absorb donations from abroad and fund the group's critical needs on the ground. A joint @IDF & @IsraelMFA aid delegation will depart tonight to assist at the destruction site in #Miami, USA, after the collapse of a residential building. The delegation is headed by the Commander of the National Rescue Unit in the Home Front Command, Col. (res.) Golan Vach, and will include a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guy Giladi, the former Deputy Consul General in Miami.

#UNGA convenes today to discuss the situation in the M.E, BUT another UN meeting won't contribute to de-escalation & is counterproductive.

However it's an opportunity for @UN members to condemn Hamas indiscriminate rocket fire & acknowledge Israel's right to defend its citizens. The full responsibility for this escalation and for those harmed on both sides falls entirely on Hamas and the other terrorist organizations operating in #Gaza.

Israel today coordinated a complex operation to transfer humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza. The transfer was hindered by repeated Hamas mortar fire launched at the crossing, in which civilians were killed and injured, and an IDF soldier was wounded

The timeline of events: This morning, the Keren Shalom crossing was set to open to allow for the transfer of humanitarian aid, and the exit of foreign nationals.
