Today is Mango’s 8th birthday
He’s my boy
Full of love & joy & play
If you ask him: “Do you want to go for a walk tomorrow” or “Did you have a nice walk yesterday” he jumps up & get his lead
It’s cos he doesn’t dream of the future or cling to the past
He lives in the moment.
For his birthday I took Mango window shopping in Smithfields & Chinatown
It was a chance to try out his new present - the Lover’s Lead (“One of the stupidest inventions ever” Stephen Hawking / “I’m out!” @DeborahMeaden)
The birthday boy had some crispy duck & he’s now knackered
In 1962, Marilyn Monroe shimmied onto the Madison Square Garden stage in a flesh-coloured gown covered in 2,500 rhinestones & serenaded JFK with ‘Happy Birthday’
The crowd went wild
Yesterday, Logan J Parker did the same thing for Mango on his birthday

I took Mango to his favourite pub - @WaxysLittleSis in Soho - for a birthday drink yesterday
Last October, Mango led a rescue mission to rescue a baby duck that appeared to have got trapped behind a metal griddle in a pond (#THREAD👇)
Watching him spring into action in order to help a fellow fluffy creature in distress gives you some sense of the type of dog Mango is!
“Kitty cat, Mango! Where’s the kitty cat?”
Whilst few galleries allow dogs inside, Mango is a big art lover & particularly loves art about sausages, squirrels & dog.

Yesterday, Mango was given a dog bowl for his birthday by the Director of the @AFCWimbledon’s new museum

Mango often gives me “have a word” looks
He shot me one ystdy when he met Orinoco. Apparently in the wild Wombles are natural predators of dogs

Mango is a very good dog, but he doesn’t always listen to me
Ystdy by the Thames, I asked him to stay out of the mud
He ignored me
But I didn’t mind because the muddier his pelt became the brighter shone his eyes

“Mango, if you ignore me & go in the mud again, I’ll swap you for a Swamp Dog!”
