What's the metaverse?

Some define it as a persistent 3D universe (or multiverse) that allows users to meet, game, and socialize in virtual spaces.

Some will say it's basically a 3D virtual social media with games, meeting rooms, clubs, and cities.

I hope they're wrong

The true potential of the metaverse goes beyond what you see in the movie Ready Player One.

After all, Ready Player One is dystopian. The world has gone to shit.

People live in slums.

They use the digital world to escape the physical world.

It's a pretty depressing movie

Who wants that? Nobody.

The question is:

How can the metaverse make our lives in the physical world BETTER?

How can the metaverse become a HUMANIZING force?

How can the metaverse make the world work for everyone?

There are 2 ways:

1.] Prototyping

2.] #Cosmolocalism

1. PROTOTYPING

Nikola #Tesla, the Serbian inventor, had a superhuman mind.

Legend goes he could build complex electrical machines in his imagination.

Piece by piece, he would put them together.

And if they worked in his mind, he knew they would work in the physical world.

Is it true? I don't know.

But think about how crazy that would be.

He could calculate the laws of physics inside his mind...

And use them to prototype his inventions.

Before he wasted a penny on physical materials.

BTW, THIS is the REAL reason the metaverse is exciting.

Truth is...

I don't care about buying digital land in @TheSandboxGame next to @snoopdogg to put up a billboard.

I don't care about work meetings in a #Meta virtual boardroom.

I don't care about virtual concerts in @decentraland

I DEFINITELY don't care about using VR to...

--> Dissociate cows from reality
--> Dissociate people from reality
--> Replace reality with a virtual world

I want the metaverse to bring us CLOSER to reality.

What do I care about then?

Using the metaverse as a prototyping technology.

--> Prototyping cheap homes that can last generations

--> Prototyping new cities

--> Prototyping new ways of growing food

--> Prototyping life-enhancing and life-saving technologies

The metaverse is useful because:

We'll be able to imagine & prototype ways to make our lives better for pennies...

Without wasting tons of resources on things that don't work.

The metaverse isn't 3D social media.

The metaverse is a GLOBAL DESIGN HUB.

& ARTISTS will rule

The metaverse is an open, permissionless, dynamic marketplace for designs.

Now, combine that with current trends in NFTs and manufacturing, and you have:

2.] COSMOLOCALISM

#Cosmolocalism means: global design, local manufacturing

And it's a big f***in deal.
