The reconstructed Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Mumbai stands on the same place where the Old Darbar Hall stood. However it has a seating capacity of 750. Earlier, it had a seating capacity of 225
The reconstructed Darbar Hall has maintained the heritage features of the old Hall
The Old Darbar Hall, built in the year 1911, was designed by Architect George Wittet.
After Independence, the Darbar Hall was mainly associated with the oath taking ceremonies of constitutional functionaries. It is also the venue of various government and cultural programmes.

The Old Darbar Hall was built welcome King George V and Queen Mary of England in 1911.
The Darbar Hall at the same premises of Raj Bhavan in Mumbai has been newly reconstructed at a time when the whole country is celebrating #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav
On this auspicious occasion of inauguration of the Reconstructed Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Mumbai, I congratulate the people and the Government of Maharashtra.
In the last four and a half years, I have come to Maharashtra about twelve times, including this time.
: President
There is definitely something special in the people of #Maharashtra and the land here that draws me here again and again.
The greatness of Maharashtra has so many dimensions that it is always less to describe them.
: President Shri Ram Nath Kovind at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai today
If only the names of the personalities of Maharashtra are counted, then such a list will not end
Maharashtra is the land of spirituality and it has also been the land of heroic struggles against injustice
This is the land of patriots and also of the devotees of God
: President
Be it the height of the art attained in the Ajanta-Ellora caves or the natural beauty of the Western Ghats, #Maharashtra shows an abundant gift of both talent and nature. The hospitality of the people here is famous

But in my journey (to Maharashtra) this time, I am also feeling a sense of emptiness. A week ago we all lost our dear #LataDidi. A great genius like her is born only once in a century. The music of Lata ji is immortal which will always enchant all the music lovers: President
It gives me great pleasure to inaugurate the New Durbar Hall of this Raj Bhavan during the #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav celebrations in the 75th year of independence of the country
I am glad to know that the new construction has been done keeping the heritage feature intact: President
Like Rashtrapati Bhavan, this Raj Bhavan has also become a constitutional symbol of the hopes & aspirations of the people of the world's largest democracy in today's era. Its present & future is associated with the glorious journey of Maharashtra and the entire country: President
According to our constitution, 'We the people of India' are the basis of the sovereignty of the country. I see this opening ceremony of the Durbar Hall as a celebration of India's independence and democracy: President Shri Kovind
The public is paramount and I am sure that the Durbar Hall along with the Raj Bhavan will also become an effective centre for public welfare activities: President Shi Ram Nath Kovind

Before independence, the word Durbar was associated with the monarchy. But today's court is related to democracy. Transparency is the most important aspect of good governance in a democratic system: President Shri Kovind
The method of connecting with the people through the Janta Darbar by the public servants is becoming more popular. Thus, this new Durbar Hall in a new context is a new symbol of our #NewIndia, new #Maharashtra and our vibrant #democracy: President of India at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai
