The idea that a negative test (or tests) means that there is nothing wrong is ignoring the plain fact that there is something wrong.

The person has just explained how they are feeling. Have they been heard? Many haven’t and that is unacceptable. Even some doctors have not been believed by other doctors!

The result is only useful for that specific test. And maybe many tests have been negative. They can still be the wrong tests. Why has that been so hard for medicine to understand?

Fortunately this is changing slowly as the Long Covid community speaks up and continues to push for deeper understanding. It’s coming with some excellent research.

But what we need is society and medicine to move on from its dualist approach, to see people first and to believe them. There needs to be shift in belief. This is what will being sustainable change and less suffering.
