It’s the start of a new week, so time for a new entry on #BatmanvSuperman references to the DC lore. Today is Part 4 in the Knightmare scene which will involve various references to different comics. All of them in the 🧵 below! #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
Let’s first start with Batman’s Knightmare outfit. This resembles Batman: The Cult #4 images. But this has also become a #ZackSnyderistheblueprint moment as it was used in Batman: The Detective #1 and Batman #34 (Rebirth) recently.
The parademon design (and Apokoliptian worlds) also has a hint of Kingdom Come designs.
Then, we also get a reference to Batman: The Cult but this time issue #1 with Batman (in this similar suit) chained.
After that, Superman states “She was my world, and you took her from me”. I love that this line seems a combination of Superman referring to Lois as “my world” in Superman: For Tomorrow and also Superman stating “you took her from me” in Infinite Crisis #5.
And finally, we get Flash suit in #BatmanvSuperman which has some design similarities with a Flash suit from Earth 2: Society #5 (which @naveensp helped me find!). This is also interesting since this run is coincidental with #BvS filming and is about another Earth.
And that brings to an end my Knightmare scene threads! Four parts full of references to the DC world, some to some very relevant storyline in the comics. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
