TOKAYEV'S NEW KAZAKHSTAN BEGAN WITH IMPUNITY FOR TORTURE.
While President Tokayev in his statement acknowledged the torture of detainees during the January events, and noted the "unacceptability" of these methods, all remains unchanged.

Tokayev's statement about recognition of the facts of tortures remained just another empty statement.
It is the same Kazakhstan with political repression, the same impunity for torture, and lack of objectivity and transparency in investigation.

It is confirmed by the case of civil activist K.#Amrenov who reports that on March 20,2022 the investigator for the fight against corruption in Pavlodar region #Taukel D.S.closed the criminal case against police officers under Article 146(torture).

This week, Kazakh authorities visit Brussels, including human rights commissioner Elvira #Azimova, who claims that "transparent investigations" are being conducted,but that in reality the authorities are engaged in an imitation of "political reforms".
