On 5 January2022 Yerkebulan #SYDYKBAYEV drove out to pick up his mother from work but was wounded by a gunshot on the way.He died at the age of 31 despite two performed surgeries @hermanntertsch @NachoSAmor

According to the investigation of Yerkebulan's death, he was found with a gunshot wound outside of the Nazarbayev residence in Almaty after which he was brought to the hospital.

However, Yerkebulan's relatives don't believe these claims because his car was found in a completely different part of the city.

Yerkebulan #SYDYKBAYEV made a living by repairing cars and moonlighting as a taxi driver. His three minor children are left without their father, and his widowed wife is pregnant with their fourth child.

His family is struggling financially now because Yerkebulan's mother doesn't earn enough to provide for his family, and his widowed wife is no longer getting her maternal allowance as her youngest child already turned 1.

The Kazakhstani authorities have not yet published the lists of those killed during and after the January events, nor have the perpetrators, who killed peaceful citizens,  been held accountable yet.
