The brochure states that dyslexic candidates need to submit two forms (Appendix XV & XVI). The certificate must mention ‘SEVERE’ under the Dyslexia category to enable the candidate to get the benefit of the disability quota 2/ #NEETUG2022 #Disability
Form-1 also asks for the details of the Dyslexia Association meaning that rather than a medical authority, NGOs will attest. Why UDID then?
Form-2 is a newly introduced Certificate to be produced by Dyslexic Candidate from the Principal of School/College last attended. 3/ #NEET
Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 nowhere mentions “severe dyslexia”. But @NMC_IND Gazette Guidelines reg admission of students with disabilities notified on 14/5/2019 debars dyslexic with >80% or SEVERE nature or significant cognitive/ intellectual disability 4/
This out-of-the-blue new criteria is vague & amounts to disqualification of dyslexic candidates who willbe having a ≥ 40% disability but may not fall under the undefined ‘severe’ dyslexia category. This clause has to be removed & replaced with a disability % of ≥40 as in Act 5/
Furthermore, the Guidelines for the purpose of assessing the extent of disability under the #RPDA2016 gazette notified on 4.1.2018 state that the certificate issued at 18 years will be valid life-long. Then why re-assessment in NEET-PG or certificate from school? 6/ #NEETUG22
Even after all this, when a successful #NEETUG applicant with #dyslexia visits NMC mandated #disability assessment center, there is no clarity. See below two contrasting documents from MCC @DghsIndia one saying @LHMCDelhi is a center for cognitive disability other saying not

The no. of students with disabilities who qualify is just 0.27% of total despite 5% quota. The no. further goes down by NMC mandated disability centres (rightly called ‘harassment centres’). Entire focus is on debarring students w/ disabilities in medicine, dentistry & nursing.
Nursing Council of India even in 2022 only allows those with lower limb disabilities in BSc Nursing. / end
