🪡 Taunting and tormenting Muslims has become India’s national bloodsport, post-2014. Barely a day passes without #Muslims being hectored by bigots on how they should live, love, eat, dress, pray, work, marry and procreate.

How would the 24th Maharaja of Mysore have viewed this?

2️⃣ ‘Nalvadi’ Krishnaraja Wadiyar was the Maharaja of Mysore for 39 years. He presided over a golden period of progress in health, education, industry, infrastructure, arts, culture, literature—i.e. vikas.

Gandhi called him ‘Raja Rishi’ (sage king).

3️⃣ In 1902, when he formally ascended the throne at the age of 18, he committed himself to “social care without discrimination”.

Like his parents before him, he said he would “continue to promote the welfare of all classes and creeds among my subjects.”

4️⃣ In 1912, he laid the foundation for YMCA, Bangalore.

He hoped “its influence, religious, moral and educational, will be all for the good, not only of its #Christian members but also of young men belonging to other religions who will pass their leisure hours within its walls.”

5️⃣ In 1922, exactly 100 years ago, he inaugurated the Jumma Masjid in Mysore. The mosque had been commissioned by his ancestors after Tipu Sultan’s death.

‘Nalvadi’ Krishnaraja Wadiyar said: “I look upon you all, whether Hindus, Mahomedans or others, as equally dear to me.”

6️⃣ Unlike today’s illiterate scum, the Maharaja of Mysore spoke in Urdu at the Masjid—and wholeheartedly embraced Muslims.

“It will give me full pleasure if the Mussalman community make full use of the mosque and if they constantly resort to it for prayer and meditation.”

7️⃣ ‘Raja Rishi’ Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar:

“The Almighty God can confer no greater blessing on a ruler than the happiness and well-being of his people, be they Hindus, Mohamedans, or Christians, in whose welfare, spiritual as well as material, he is deeply interested.”

8️⃣ 100 years on, the Mysore Maharaja’s speech should shame pseudo-Hindus in “democratic” India, who spend their days and nights thinking up ever newer ways of making Muslims feel inferior and unwanted—and shame Hinduism with the smallness of their minds. twitter.com/i/events/14913….

9️⃣ ‘Nalvadi’ Krishnaraja Wadiyar was also the co-founder and first Chancellor of Benaras Hindu University.

He backed Aligarh Muslim University, but hoped BHU would attract the young of all religions with the “quality of its secular education”.
