People willing to start up are often worried about the initial set-up costs and it is a valid reason to worry about.
But when you dig a bit deeper you realise that with the ecosystem today you can create and run a startup in the most frugal yet effective way possible. 🧵
I have highlighted tools and ways to run your startup for free. This is decent enough to handle about ~ 500K requests easily, but of course it's application dependent too. Please feel free to suggest any other awesome resources I might have missed. #startup
@discord Use discord for #communication, discord can be configured to work like slack. Best part, discord is completely free, while slack averagely charges $10/user/month.
@cloudinary for image hosting. Cloudinary is sufficiently free for a decent scale application. Cloudinary delivers media through a very fast and optimised #cdn.
@vercel for #frontend. Vercel has a very generous free plan. Just push code to a github repo connected with vercel and there it goes. Vercel can also be used for backend.
@figma for #designing. Figma is free to use. You can literally create anything in figma for free. Figma community is so strong that most of the plugins are available for free.
@Cloudflare for #dns. Cloudflare has a very decent free plan. Fastest response time, protection against sql injection, ddos, etc.
@trello , @Jira , @useshortcut for project #management. Trello serves as an efficient task tracker. It can be configured for free use. Jira is free for upto 10 users. Shortcut has a very generous free plan.
@IFTTT for #automation. "If this than that" is a super cool no-code tool for automation. It has about 700 integrations. Custom automations can also be integrated via webhooks. Free plan is very very generous.
@awscloud aws activate can be used as the defacto "cloud solution". Aws Activate programme offers about 100K USD worth of credits. 3-5K USD credits are instantly available when you complete programmes like startup school by @ycombinator .
@dynamodb - can be used as a database.
#s3 for storing user files, content.
#AwsLambda - can be used for backend. No need to manage and maintain servers or worry about infra. Totally serverless.
#AwsCognito for authentication
