A Tesla battery is made with 62kg of grey gold (lithium), which is barely or never recycled –they usually end in huge trash fields in Southern coutries. As Aurore was mentioning earlier, this kind of technology consumes high levels of energy and water.

So AI isn’t artificial nor intelligent. It increases MSD risks for Amazon warehouse workers, it exploits low paid human workers to train algorithms or play fake automations, it conspires with insurance companies to charge you more… #USI2022

It also finances a few male millionaires’ space race who grew up with sci-fi dystopian novels.

Those men are fleeing climate collapse and state regulations while we actually need to relearn how to live on earth. We need to address this together. #USI2022

Where do we start?
–First thing to do: pay these click slaves decently (currently it’s less than $4/h).
–Second: use less data (so less energy consumed in data centers).
–Then: come up with industry standards to improve the quality of data and reduce biais and discrimination.
