So @The_TUC wants charitable status of @ALLIANCELGB removed by @ChtyCommission because the 'LGBT+ community' must speak with only one voice, and must never be 'divided.' So LGBT+ is fine, T alone is fine, but never LGB. Focus on sexuality w/out gender identity is not allowed 1/

But the belief that everyone has a "gender identity" which is more important than their sex is just that - a belief. Why does @The_TUC insist we all live by this particular belief system? 2/

The most racism I've experienced recently has been from trans activists insisting that male-born people with particular gender identities are women 'just like black women are.' 3/

The most homophobia I've experienced recently has been from LGBT+ groups that insist that my sexuality is a bigoted, genital fetish because I'm into women and I don't believe males can be women. 4/

@ALLIANCELGB prioritises lesbians, gays and bisexuals; sexuality not gender identity. It doesn’t shame or criticise us for our sexuality. It recognises that there are times when #sexmatters. 5/

@ALLIANCELGB formed because stonewall & other LGBT+ orgs began to prioritise gender identity, despite the obvious conflicts between same-sex sexuality and a belief that sex is irrelevant; that feelings and gender stereotypes, not the physical body, determine who is a man/woman 6/

Being truthful and unapologetic in advocating for LGB people where conflicts exist between our interests and those of gender ideologists does not make @ALLIANCELGB a trans hate group, despite what the loud voices of the self appointed community leaders claim. 7/

..& scratch under the surface of those who teach children that they can change sex, &who shout loudest abt TW being women & equally TM being men, it's clear that in their own lives & personal relationships they know well who is male/female &that there are times when it matters 8/

By targeting @ALLIANCELGB, elevating stonewall and insisting on #LGBWithTheT - @The_TUC is removing choice from lesbian, gay & bisexual people who do not feel represented by LGBT+; it is separating the #wrongkindoflesbian gay and bisexual person...9/

...and telling them that if they don't prioritise gender identity, they don’t deserve representation. The TUC is choosing to mandate a belief system that places male feelings over women’s lives. The TUC is ignoring the fact that while women are still paid less then men...10/

..still do most of the unpaid care work in families, are still subject to unchecked male violence, domestic abuse & rape; that the choice for woman-only spaces for growth, well-being and healing is necessary – all of this...11/

..is because of our female sex not our woman identity. I am resentful & angry that to benefit from union membership I have to join an org that believes my right to access women-only services & spaces is dependent on whether a male-born person feels/claims he is a woman 12/

So Why is the @The_TUC so invested in the idea of a monolith "LGBT+ community" with unelected community leaders who speak for us all?
It reminds me of when indivs/orgs want to get the views of "local Muslims" or "the BAME community"... 13/

..& head off to consult with the outspoken, usually male, unelected "community elders" and assume they speak for everyone in the so-called community. Ignoring the voices of women, women's orgs and other less promoted, more marginalised voices who have a different perspective. 14/

The assumption of uniformity and the picking & choosing which voices they feel happiest 2 hear from is self-serving, #racist paternalistic & #misogynistic.
Just as it is arrogant, domineering & #homophobic for @The_TUC to insist LBG ppl must all be represented by @stonewalluk 15/
