On Monday, 3 conservative activists in Portland (including Japanese-American evangelist Joey Gibson) are on trial. DA Schmidt accuses them of felony rioting for allegedly instigating a brawl at the Cider Riot pub in 2019 that was hosting Rose City Antifa.
In 2021, right-wing activist Ian Kramer was given 20-month prison sentence for knocking #Antifa member Heather Clark out after she rushed in to fight. Antifa & press said her neck was broken but her medical record showed no fracture/traumatic abnormality.
Photographs of Portland #Antifa member Ashley Heather Clark & the moment she rushed in to brawl before being hit with a stick & getting knocked out. Cider Riot manager Breanne Gearheart told state investigators she wasn't aware of anyone calling for medical assistance that day.
The Rose City Antifa event at Cider Riot in May 2019 was first time I was injured while reporting on #Antifa. A wanted suspect from the pub rushed at me & sprayed my face with bear mace to disable me from documenting their violence (PPB case 19-141701).
A student journalist from Oregon State covering the Rose City Antifa event like me was beaten & had his camera destroyed. To date, no one from the violent #Antifa side at Cider Riot was arrested by
@PortlandPolice for their documented assaults:
Soon after the riot, Cider Riot shut down. I did a deep investigation that revealed the extent to which the business mislead state investigators to cover its tracks. It deleted CCTV video & the owner/staff provided false statements to investigators. thepostmillennial.com/shocking-truth…
The Oregonian also published a report on Cider Riot that exposed how the #Antifa pub had allowed its patrons to use "illegal weapons" & lied to state regulators. Maybe this is why the pub so quickly shut down? @repblumenauer was a supporter of the pub. oregonlive.com/news/2019/09/p…
@repblumenauer As revenge for my coverage on Cider Riot in 2019, #Antifa worked with their accomplices in the press to concoct a lie that I was part of the violent attack on them. Reason magazine independently investigated the shocking claims & found them to be false. reason.com/2019/09/03/and…
I also see that Antifa members have been desperately trying to find out who the jurors are in the trial of conservative activists Joey Gibson, Russell Schulz & MacKenzie Lewis. (@MultCoDA charged them w/felony rioting not for actually rioting but allegedly instigating a brawl.)
Read thread to see reporting from the trial in Portland today. Mike Schmidt’s office charged three conservative activists with felony rioting not for actually rioting but instead for allegedly instigating a riot against Rose City Antifa:
Flashback: At the riot outside the Antifa pub in Portland (Cider Riot) in May 2019, an Antifa person fighting with a guitar got punched in the face.
Breaking: The judge in the Cider Riot #antifa case in Portland has dismissed the felony cases against conservative activists Joey Gibson & Russell Schultz. Mike Schmidt's prosecutors failed to demonstrate they engaged in tumultuous & violent conduct with a group (felony rioting).
A jury however will decide to convict or acquit the remaining defendant MacKenzie Lewis on the felony riot charge. Prosecutors allege he instigated a brawl against Rose City Antifa members outside the now-shuttered Cider Riot pub. (The pub was found to have misled investigators)
During the jury selection for the Cider Riot antifa case, Portland antifa accounts appear to suggest that their supporters should lie during jury selection. Antifa call themselves anti-state but they will work with the state to prosecute shared enemies. archive.ph/y1vfJ
Joey Gibson's attorney, Angus Lee, gave reaction to @hunnybadgermom after his client's felony riot case was dismissed at trial. Mike Schmidt's office sought to heavily prosecute Gibson for political reasons due to Gibson's pro-Trump rallies in Portland.
Breaking: Conservative Japanese-American activist Joey Gibson (@PatriotPrayerUS) has given first comments after Judge B. Souede granted a motion to have his felony case dismissed during the trial. Prosecutors worked w/Antifa witnesses to prosecute Gibson.
Breaking: The third Portland conservative defendant in the Cider Riot case, Mackenzie Lewis, has been found GUILTY of felony rioting against Rose City #Antifa by a jury. Co-defendants Joey Gibson & Russell Schultz were ACQUITTED by the judge yesterday.
Portland conservative activist Mackenzie Lewis (wearing helmet) was found guilty of felony rioting against Rose City Antifa by a jury. Here is the May 1, 2019 video in which the jury found he committed felony rioting by pushing violent Antifa member Cary Canary/David Chaltraw.
The Rose City #Antifa member who was spitting and hitting in the video prior is Cary Cary Cary Canary/David A. Chaltraw. The trans militant was never arrested by police & neither were her comrades for assaulting me & other journalists in May 2019:
.@hunnybadgermom published a statement received from Mackenzie Lewis, the conservative activist who was found guilty by a Portland jury of felony rioting against Rose City #Antifa at the Cider Riot pub in May 2019. His public defender fell asleep & snored at the trial.
