1/Thread abt Grenell v. Troye defamation lawsuit:
We are publicly announcing that @MarkSZaidPC & #TomCraig (@TMCv63, @fhhfirm) are representing @OliviaTroye to defend against former Ambassador (& acting DNI for 3 months) #RichardGrenell’s defamation lawsuit.
2/We will not repeat lawsuit allegations, which arose from Twitter activity, but assuredly they are baseless.
3/His lawsuit was filed on August 8, 2022, in Circuit Court for City of Alexandria. Although filed almost one month ago, Troye has not been served to commence proceedings. For one thing, the address cited in lawsuit is incorrect.
4/Local law enforcement was notified to ensure current occupants are not endangered by expected #MAGA threats.
Troye & I have both experienced such deplorable behavior.

5/To date it appears only use of Grenell lawsuit has been to fundraise for #KashPatel & #MAGA efforts to use litigation as weapons against their perceived enemies. Well, we’re ready!
6/Therefore, we are publicly acknowledging Olivia’s acceptance of service of Grenell’s lawsuit & plan to promptly & aggressively defend against it.
7/We have contemporaneously notified Grenell’s legal counsel @JesseBinall, who also happens to not coincidentally serve as former President Trump’s legal counsel, of our involvement & that we are prepared to move forward expeditiously.
8/Both @TMCv63 & I have litigated against #JesseBinnall before so this isn’t our first rodeo (cue #TomSelleck). We jointly rep victims of #Libyan warlord #KhalifaHifter who was defended by #Binnall's firm.

9/We recently obtained default judgment against warlord #Hifter at same time #Binnall sought to withdraw from the representation. But his firm has still apparently not complied w/court requirements that were imposed weeks ago.

11/Once we appear in Troye’s lawsuit, we plan to take steps to seek dismissal of lawsuit & are ready, if pushed, to also pursue counterclaims against #KashPatel & others, as well as move for sanctions where appropriate.
12/This lawsuit is further evidence of #MAGA having declared war on public servants, lawful #whistleblowers & anyone who opposes their authoritarian philosophies. But litigation unfortunately quickly becomes expensive.
