Do you know the first one to suggest Partiton of the country based on religious lines? It was #VeerSavarkar
He suggested the two nation theory in while delivering the presidential address to the 19th Hindu Mahasabha session at Ahmedabad in 1937.

The theory of two nations was first proposed in #Savarkar’s book, Essentials of Hindutva & was later passed as a resolution by the Hindu Mahasabha in 1937.
In 1940, All India Muslim League, led by Jinnah adopted this concept in its Lahore session. Why blame Pt. Nehru?

Babasaheb on #Savarkar’s duplicity on “Akhand Bharath”
“Strange as it may appear, Mr. Savarkar and Mr. Jinnah, instead of being opposed to each other on the one nation versus two nations issue, are in complete agreement about it….

“I have no quarrel with Mr Jinnah’s two-nation theory. We, Hindus, are a nation by ourselves and it is a historical fact that Hindus and Muslims are two nations.”
- #Savarkar

Nagpur

Clearly,Muslim League & he were hand in glove when it came to splitting India

Supporters of #Savarkar say he stood for Akhand Bharat, but his actions & speeches were quite the opposite. He had also welcomed the possibility of Sikhs in Punjab demanding a separate Sikhistan & openly supported of the rule of princely states in India,

In the 1940s all political organizations, including Congress was banned.
Only the Hindu Mahasabha & Muslim League were allowed to function only because they served the purpose of the British & were more loyal than the king.

It was during this time that the Hindu Mahasabha led by #Savarkar ran coalition Govts with the Muslim League in Bengal, Sind & North West Frontier Province.

Why did #Savarkar run Govts with Muslim League? Why weren’t they banned when all political outfits were banned?
