Reasons for increase in #tuberculosis cases:

🔸Disruption of essential TB services due to the #COVID19 pandemic.

🔸Ongoing conflicts across Eastern Europe, Africa & the Middle East have further worsened the situation for vulnerable populations.

Last year there were challenges in providing TB treatment and services. This resulted in many people going undiagnosed and untreated.

The number of people provided with treatment for RR-TB and multidrug-resistant #tuberculosis (MDR-TB) has also declined.
