#FakeNews and misleading

1/7 🧵 - Let’s look into this thoroughly

1. Who owns Marwan1?
2. Where was the ship when it was seized?
3. What is the purpose of the random SL maritime registration certificate?
4. The so called “UN letter” to Somaliland?

2/7 - Who owns Marwan1?

Marwan1 also formerly Al Wesam 4 as per photos taken in Qandala, #Puntland, It is licenced by Puntland and Federal Gov of Somalia under the name Al Wesam Fishing and cold storage according to registration document and a Bill of landing dated June 2018.

3/7 - The crews’ visas were applied for by Som Link Fisheries (linked to Yemeni based arms traffickers and Al-Qaeeda) and granted by the Puntland authorities. The US treasury recently sanctioned 8 individuals from Puntland who sold weapons to or were active al-Shabaab members.

4/7 - Where was it seized?

According to US Navy, the ship was sized on 3.12.22 in the Gulf of Oman along a maritime route (Iran-Yemen). It was nowhere near Berbera, #Somaliland as per the scandalous claim. When released, unverified claims stated Marwan1 docked 13.1222 in Berbera

5/7 - The registration certificate?

To support their claim, a certificate issued in 2018 (6 Months licence) by #Somaliland to a company named precision shipping & logistics is shared. There are no proofs linking the aforementioned company to Som Link (Abdiqadir) or Al Wesam.

6/7 - What is the UN letter?

Although the authenticity of the letter cannot be confirmed, (will see if UN arms embargo report 2023 references it) as claimed in the letter, the certificate shared (Appendix 6, not 5 as stated in the letter) does not mention Mr Mohamed Abdiqadir.

7/7 - A new narrative?

Once they realised such a narrative cannot stand without merit in this day and age, @SuleimanHashi started claiming Marwan1 belongs to Former Somaliland Trade minister.

Burden of proofs lies with the person making the claim so we will wait.

Maxaa dhacay? 😂😂
