5. The City of Lethbridge saw a HUGE Cut of $1,000,000 from their police budget

As the UCP cut was without ANY warning or consultation, it impacted the request to have 8-new patrol officers approved, as Lethbridge saw a HUGE spike in violent / domestic crimes

6. This week the UCP announced 50-new officers for YEG and YYC in a “tough on crime” plan.

The fact is this ONLY represents a messily 7.5% of the $96,000,000 the UCP stole from police agencies since 2019!

Where did the other $88,000,000 you took from police go?

#Ableg UCP 👮‍♀️ 🧵

In total, $96,000,000 should have gone to hiring the equivalent of

👮‍♀️ 1,341 Patrol Officers
👩‍💼 1,412 Social Workers
🧑‍⚕️ 2,336 Mental Health / Drug Addiction.Counsellors

The majority of Albertans saw NOTHING from the UCP but more crime in their cities.
