This is a heart wrenching statement from Bemtre, a daughther of ChuraChandpur
Her home was burnt down & her relative was shot . She & her 2 year old daughter were attacked by a bloodthirsty Kuki Christian mob

Synopsis :
1) The discrimination against the #Meiteis started right from their school days. Their culture and customs were ridiculed constantly. Regularly they were urged or pressurized to convert.

3) She got the first indications of #illegalimmigrations during her high school days in the 2000s. Special classes had to be arranged for many of her classmates who could not speak #Manipuri, Hindi or proper English.
4) The Meitei customs were already under attack by 2006 (3/18)

5) Prayers at Khumujamba Pug, a Meitei holy site, was stopped after 2006 without considering their sentiments
6) Bemtre Ji had a small business and recalls that the Kukis often took things on gunpoint from Meitei shops, in addition to their extortion rackets (4/18)

7) The Manipur Land Act 1960 and the Kuki terrorist groups together made it impossible for Meiteis to buy land in CCpur. All land had to be bought as clubs, societies, mortgages and organisations

8) Even in her school days pamphlets were dropped telling Meiteis to leave. (5/18)

9) By 2016 she could see the illegal immigrants encroaching land on the hills, destroying the greenery snd the rivers. People in Burmese clothes, driving motorbikes of Burmese origin filled the streets.

11) The rule of the Junta, the COVID and the extrenely welcoming gesture of the Mizoram govt. towards the illegal immigrants together brought illegal immigration to its peak

12) By 2011 the Meiteis had been reduced to 4.28% in CCpur

14) On 27th April a Kuki mob first burnt down the New Lamka Gym and later attacked the security forces. Bemtre could hear the mob retreating as the police used tear gas the fumes of which reached her home.

16) Before the peace rally on the 3rd of May, the Kukis announced that all non-participants must stay indoors or face the consequences
Most of the participants were heavily armed and abused the Meiteis & the CM Biren throughout the rally

18) At 5 pm. her aunt called & told them to leave CCPur immeduately. Her aunt, their three children & their in laws were forced to leave their home in Torbung and walk towards Moirang in search of safety

19) Her shop at Torbung Bazaar and her house were both burnt down. (10/18)

20) In CCpur, by 7.30 Kuki mobs were roaming all over the main road shouting and abusing.
They were inviting their brethren by banging the lamp posts making a terrifying ringing noise

21) Then they started looting & vandalising the shops owned or rented by the Meiteis (11/18)

22) She along with 50 others, took shelter in her Kuki neighbour's house. Despite repeated enquiries throughout the night he never revealed their location to the murderous mob.

23) Despite prior reassurances, neither the Police nor the Assam Rifles provided any help. (12/18)

24) Her cousin called at 10.30 requesting her to arrange an ambulance for her brother who was shot in the chest. With the mob outside she was helpless

25) The mob started burning down the houses in her neighbourhood. Her 3 generation old house was totally burnt down. (13/18)

26) Around 2:30 a.m. finally they were evacuated by Assam Rifles after the mobs dispersed.
She & her daughter were given shelter at the Conventional Hall, Tuibong with 300 more Meitei people

27) Within 5 minutes they were attacked by a huge Kuki Mob in front of the AR (14/18)

28) The Kuki mob pelted them with stones, barged through the main gate, snatched all their remaining belongings & burnt them
The officers of the AR did not protect the people & negotiated with the mob instead
The mob dispersed after 30 minutes of tense negotiation. (15/18)

29) By Dawn they were taken to the Mini Secretarist Office. She saw many Meiteis with catapult and gunshot wounds there.

30) She barely managed to get one roti and little water for her 2 year old child who was too traumatised to eat anything. (16/18)

31) The Neiteis were escorted to Kwata by the AR. As the convoy moved along Tiddim Road, the Kukis were there along the roadside, abusing and telling the Meiteis to never return.

32) She was taken from Kwata to Moirang by her relative. (17/18)
