I’m a rural BC hospital taking an elderly relative to ER. No masks on staff & visitors but aggressive efforts to make everyone sanitize their hands, despite the fact that the diseases helping to crash the health system are airborne. We are truly living in an age of disinformation

Look at the handwashing fixation of @IPACCanada & the blindness to airborne transmission & masking stretching back many years. Every year they suggest infection control is largely a handwashing issue. It's as if all the airborne diseases do not exist. Why?

@IPACCanada PS I meant this image to be a photo not a gif, but the gif's jerky repetition is like a perfect echo of the bossy hand-sanitizing greeter repeatedly instructing all the unmasked hospital visitors to sanitize their hands, which I witnessed for HOURS.

@IPACCanada And... we both got Covid. The hospital is the only place we've been indoors. My relative got it (probably when unmasked HCWs treated her after taking her mask off) and then I got it from her. Well done, BC health system. You made an elderly patient sicker than she already was.

@IPACCanada And even though I'm in one of the highest risk groups, I can't access Paxlovid from the system that sickened us, even though people my age can access it all over Canada and the developed world - while BC restricts it the most.

@IPACCanada @GovCanHealth It's fairly well known that BC IPAC (which is full of Urgency of Normal types like Dr. Jennifer Grant - anti lockdown, lots of Great Barrington rhetoric) is actively discouraging the use of Paxlovid in BC. Given that it reduces incidence of Long Covid: WTH, @bcndp? #bcpoli

@IPACCanada @GovCanHealth @bcndp If they truly think they're strengthening the herd by getting everyone mass infected and withholding any treatments - some kind of survival of the fittest delusion - they should be fired. Covid is weakening the herd thanks to the way it damages the population's immune systems.
