1. Uttar Pradesh Police uncovered a conversion racket in which teenagers were allegedly being targeted through an online gaming application ‘Fortnite’ and were enticed to convert their religion.

2. Mastermind of this racket was Shahnawaz Maksood Khan, a resident of Mumbra – who used the digital name ‘Baddo’ and allegedly targeted children who played ‘Fortnite.’

3. Shahnawaz and a cleric were booked under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act based on a complaint that alleged they convinced a boy to convert to Islam. The boy had just passed the class 12th board exam, and his father had lodged a complaint.

4. The main target of this conversion mafia were teen age children who would play the online community-based game "Fortnite".

5. These conversion mafia gang members would create a fake it on the online game account of "Fortnite. Then they would chat with nonmuslim kids using the Discord server and start brainwashing them for converting to Islam.

6. All these non muslims kids would be befriended and video's of infamous Islamic cleric Jakir Naik would be shared with them. Children would be repeatedly asked to watch the video and once they confirm that they have watched the video, they would be asked to convert to Islam.

7. Conversion gang members would deliberately let non-Muslim children win the group games and those who would lose the game would be asked to recite the days of the Quran. 8. Both accused would make children listen to fake recordings of the call where they would be talking about how they have inspired more than 400 people till date to convert to Islam.

9. It was revealed that the said chatting engine used to have other children from different parts of Europe also, indicating that the modus operandi had an international connection. These children were initially Christians but were later converted to Islam.

10. A Hindu minor, who converted in Ghaziabad, said he used to watch The Youth Club, a Pakistan-based YouTube channel, which contained provocative videos about Islam by Pakistani cleric Tariq Jameel.

11. While Shahnawaz Baddo the mastermind of the racket is from Mumthe bra, second accused Abdul Rehman, is a cleric at Jama Masjid in Sector 23, Ghaziabad.

12. UP Police investigation is on and they are making raids in Chandigarh and Faridabad to unearth the complete muck of this conversion racket.

13. It looks like due to the online nature of this teen-age conversion racket; their tentacles are spread across India.
