Journalists at Sky News face an uncertain few weeks. Story w/ @TW_Seal bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Asked whether staff at Sky News face redundancy, @SkyNewsHead John Ryley said the prospect had not even been discussed, and there'd been no planning for a closure
But remember - Sky made the threat to close Sky News in a submission to regulators, if the channel became an obstacle to its takeover by Fox bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
#Fox has various options for the future of #Sky News:
- Close it
- Sell it to someone else (unlikely because Sky News is loss-making)
- Spin it off into separate legal entity, as was offered at last takeover in 2011
- Insulate from Murdoch with separate board

In Parliament, former Labour leader @Ed_Miliband says there should be no `backdoor attempt' by the Murdochs to acquire Sky with a carve-out or complicated process. `The simplest way to stop this deal going ahead is to prohibit it.'
Meanwhile former Culture Secretary @JWhittingdale says: ``The greatest disaster that could befall plurality of media in this country would be for Sky News to be closed by its new owner'' #Fox #Sky #Murdoch
