I’ve launched many businesses that failed. I published a sports paper, it failed. Published a business paper, it failed. Had a printing press, failure. Had a travel company, it failed. And more. No one talks about them. They talk about @NairaBET. The one that succeeded. #thread
If you launch 100 business in your lifetime, 80 of them will fail. About 10 to 15 will drag along. About 5 will succeed. No one will care about the ones that failed. They will talk about the succcesful ones and say you have the Midas touch. Whatever you touch turns into gold.
Failure is normal in business. I don’t care what your pastor or motivational speaker is telling you. It’s normal to fail. It’s okay to fail. Just keep learning from your mistakes until you get it right.
I know I will still fail again. That’s for sure. Funny thing is I get excited when I fail. I would have learnt a valuable lesson in the process. FAIL FAST is one of my favourite sayings.
I repeat. You will fail 8 to 9 times out of ten. The beautiful thing is that when one succeeds, JUST ONE, it will wipe away the losses you suffered from the failures. The financial losses. The emotional losses. Everything. They come back in multiple folds. Baba restoration aye 😀

After spending one week on admission in the hospital, I returned home today to continue my treatment. Before I got admitted, I was “treating” the fever at home thinking it was malaria. Guys… no be every fever be malaria o.

#Thread
So I flew into Ibadan from Abuja and felt feverish. I thought it was malaria so I ordered for my favorite malaria meds. After completing the dosage, I didn’t feel better. I felt very terrible. The fever was crazy and my temperature was skyrocketing.
I left Ibadan for Lagos to go Evercare, Lekki. After tests and examinations, I was told I’ve got pneumonia. The doctors said bacteria has attacked my lungs. That is what pneumonia was about anyway. This is different from what I grew up hearing about pneumonia. 😀

I can’t count number of times I have heard people say to me that my teachings changed their lives and businesses. That’s why I keep doing it. Teaching business and marketing is my passion. But I teach it better when I make money elsewhere and then spend it on the passion. #thread
I can do a business I am not passionate about to make money so I can feed myself and my family. I can then use the money to fuel my passion. It is not compulsory that it is my passion that will bring in my livelihood. Only lazy people think like that.
When I make from my other businesses and investments I am not passionate about, I then spend it on creating free and low priced contents to teach others. Like my annual event (not done it in two years though), Youth Enterprise Conference. I do it for free.

Abramovic believes his club does not need to suffer for years before winning which I don’t think is a bad thing. His “no patience” style has won him 5 league titles, 5 FA cup, 1 Champions League, 2 Europa Cups, not to mention 3 charity shields/decorations.

#thread
Suffering to get results in football is overrated. Not only that, it is actually unnecessary and breeds weak mentality. Top top clubs world wide do not need to suffer to win trophies. Bayern, Real Madrid, Barca etc will not wait for years so they can build a team.
They are not academies. They are not Ajax. Waiting for decades is not a good attribute to have if you call yourself a big team. You give the United and Ole example. The truth is that the example can only be valid when he WINS.

Here are some discussions delivery operators must have after this NIPOST protest dies down and people move to other trending matters.

#thread
1. Acceptance they are operating in a regulated segment of the economy. One way or the other, their operations will be subjected to licensing, fees, reviews and general “pokenosing” by the relevant government agency. It will no longer be buy and bike and you are in business.
2. Who should regulate them? The NIPOST act says NIPOST should and the license to be granted by the minister overseeing NIPOST (Section 45). Is this acceptable to operators? I personally do not like it. If they do not accept, they must suggest who is in the best position...

Dear Minister @DrIsaPantami. Section 45 of the Nigeria Postal Services Act states clearly that the power to grant courier license resides with the minister of communications. You owe it to Nigerians to halt this draconian move right now.

#thread
Another fact that bothers is the fact that NIPOST is an operator and at the same time a regulator. This is not going to work going forward. Even after this new policy is reversed, we have a big duty on our hands because of this act. Anyone at NIPOST or the ministry can still...
take advantage of this act. The question here is, do we amend the act and take the power to regulate the courier “industry” away from NIPOST? If we do that, where do we take the powers to? If it remains with NIPOST, they remain operators and regulators. Not good.
