Dear @mmhastings - I am deeply sorry that you had the misfortune to have your car blown up by the CIA instead of you being randomly shot at a newspaper office. We both know had the latter happened, your entire profession would have stood up for you. Instead most were silent.
And no, before the inevitable sock puppet/trolls/pro-CIA ppl start populating this thread with nonsense to the contrary, I do not at all condone any form of violence against journalists ever.
The CIA however, can't say the same.
When he died, Michael Hastings said he was working on his biggest story ever. It was about CIA Director John Brennan.
"Hastings’s last article exposed Dem Party leaders including Obama, Kerry & Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin for their support of the same domestic spying programs they'd criticized during the Bush years, but which they worked to expand" occupy.com/article/exclus…
I can count the members of the media who meaningfully investigated what happened to Michael Hastings on one hand.
If you go to You Tube, type "Michael Hastings" and press enter, you'll find out exactly why he was killed: he had access to sources nearly no one else did and was telling the truth to millions of people, at a time when very, very few had the guts to do so
As for @Panquake dev progress last month we revealed our interface had functioning elements in place. This month, the core structural components are basically complete
Our drag & drop panels move around & reset correctly & are now customizable - resizable, pop-outable & more
First thing I see: the site uses tracking cookies.
Second thing I see: it collects email addresses & phone numbers.
Third thing I see: Advertising on its dashboard.
That isn't alternative social media.
It's the same old data surveillance rehashed.
Having a closer look. Here's their privacy policy. Which is basically an anti-privacy policy.
GETTR is registered in the United States & thus subject to US jurisdiction.
So, it's Parler 2.0.
After some lip service to claiming they only collect what you voluntarily give them (incl your SEARCHES!), scroll down a little bit further & find they actually fingerprint your browser, device & router info
(Panquake is engineered to avoid capturing of ANY of this information)
Last week, we hit our Phase 2 funding target of 167k and launched Phase 3, where we will raise an additional 500k to complete the service delivery of the product. More details about this later.
Incidentally, to celebrate Phase 3 I got some cool new graphic templates :P

In terms of general campaign progress, we're ecstatic to have the final goalposts in sight and will work to meet the final target as fast as possible.
In the meantime, we are progressing the blockchain build & performing the BETA delivery vetting for our first 5,000 users
This Twitter thread is going to raise half a million dollars
Panquake Phase 3 - Final Funding Round!
In Phase 1 & 2 you helped us establish a multi-national company & funded our BETA product build
NEXT: we'll fund hiring & training support staff & launching/marketing Panquake!
Each time a Phase 3 donation is made, I will announce it on this thread.
This thread will remain pinned to the top of my timeline until Phase 3 is complete, so that our many thousands of supporters can keep track of our progress!
Who would like to kick this off? :D
2021 was a hell of a year - at every turn, interests set against social media user freedom reared their ugly heads
Twitter tried to stop us. Didn't work
PayPal tried to stop us. Didn't work
DDOS networks tried to stop us. Didn't work
