/#thread on Part 1 (interview) with @karthikrangappa he doesn't think of himself as a good student, pretty casual when comes to academics, but hey, that’s how the outliers evolve; Karthik was not good in studies, his attention was outside the college in exploring other things;
/ He thought that his engineering decision wasn’t very wise and thoughtful, in-fact he believes to date that it was a waste of 4 years of his life, this eventually gave birth to one of Karthik’s biggest guiding force of life - GUILT...
/ After marriage, he started trading, investing, trying to figure how markets work, trying to find resources online, content-wise. His inability to find great content online gave him the direction. Karthik started making his own notes, understanding concepts bit by bit
/ He also started applying that to markets which implied that he started generating applicable content, this is when Karthik realized that he had to make a career in the stock market as well, coincidentally, this is the time when he met @Nithin0dha, who was in his early days
/ @karthikrangappa thought if he could help people in understanding finance better, maybe he would be redeemed of his guilt in wasting 4 years of that engineering, this was his guiding force that shaped up @ZerodhaVarsity and coincidentally it took him almost 4 years to build it
/ my fav- you go to a school, get to learn physics, maths, geography, coz there's so much importance paid, but Finance is also a ‘Life Skill’ unfortunately there is not much emphasis on it”, rupeetales.com was also backed by Zerodha team and it took Karthik about a year
/ Lows of life: ”When my elder daughter Meera was born, in 2009, my biggest fear was how do I pay for the bills, I had about Rs. 7,500/- in the bank account, this was probably one of the happiest and the most introspective points, where I reflected very very deep.”
/ “another 1 was during the economic depression (2009) when I lost my job in UK, landlord said you have 30 minutes to vacate, we literally grabbed everything & moved, had a relative there but they were at work, literally froze outside there apartment for hours with stuff lying
/ I am sure everyone would have faced such instances at some varying degree. On asking how did he bounce back “Being positive and being around positive people helps you a lot, I think you start celebrating small little victories, & it kind of cascades #taarezameenpar #moment
/ “You may probably think that I’m exaggerating but in a day I get at least 25~30 thank you messages, on all platforms that I’m available on; if that is any measure of the response. Rest of the impact in this pic
