2/n 2018 CVC investment activity increased by 32% over 2017 in terms of deals completed, and 47% in total capital invested.
3/n CVC investors participated in 23% of all VC-backed deals throughout 2018, which increased by 3 percentage points over 2017
4/n this trend is very interesting,
"Investment from corporates (directly from the balance sheet) reached an all-time high of 3,820 deals in 2018, 33% higher than 2017.... Deals with both corporate and CVC participation also reached an all-time high of 563 deals, 34%...
5/n some other useful highlights:
- Google Ventures was the most active in 2018
- CVCs invest heavily in internet startups
- Mobile continues to attract CVCs
- CVCs pour money into healthcare
- CVC deals to Asia may overtake North America
6/n CVCs continue to see promise in 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 Indian deals with CVC participation increased 20%, from 59 deals in 2017 to 71 deals in 2018. Funding also grew slightly from $1.6B in 2017 to $1.8B in 2018. The largest deal in 2018 was a $1B Series E to @oyorooms

1. With @realDonaldTrump once again going after the Ninth Circuit (Happy Thanksgiving, I guess??), here's a medium-sized #thread on each of the five independent factual inaccuracies, analytical problems, and/or outright lies at the heart of his judicial temper tantrum:
1. Let's start with the easiest and most obvious flaw: The actual decision that has set off this tirade was by a federal district judge in San Francisco, _not_ the Ninth Circuit. Especially if he's relying on reversal rates (more on that shortly), that's a pretty key distinction.
2. As for the decision itself, the Executive Order the district court put on hold purports to redefine eligibility for asylum in a manner that is squarely inconsistent with the text of the relevant statute, 8 U.S.C. § 1158.

Odds are that _any_ judge would've ruled the same way.

For clear perspective, when APC took over power, 24 states could not pay salaries, GDP declined from avg 6% to 2%.

The Buhari govt had to extend ₦1.9 trillion to states to enable them meet their salary obligations and over ₦600bn in budget support facility.
The Buhari administration had to offset debts/liabilities inherited to the tune of ₦7 trillion due pensioners/salary arrears, JV cash calls, Paris Club overdeductions, Oil Subsidy debts, refund to states for road, contractors etc.

 Many news sites refer to Badwan as either a protestor or a demonstrator who was shot and killed by the #IDF. The photo on the left, from the DailyMail, states Badwan is a protestor. The photo on the right from CGTN states Badwan is a protestor as well.

 The problem is Badwan wasn’t there to protest in the way most people think. This video was taken Friday afternoon at the Karni crossing where Palestinians were clashing w/ #IDF soldiers. At the end, you can see Badwan being evacuated after getting shot by the #IDF.
