MNPS board chair Sharon Gentry (@ReElectSharon) from last night: "Why are we so stuck on whether our handling of sexual harassment cases has been appropriate?" #MeToo 1/
This might be one reason! @MNPSDirector's administration ignored the evidence in their own files #MeToo 2/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
Another reason? Two days later, @MNPSDirector's team bowed to pressure from school board members to do something #MeToo 3/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
Another reason? Evidence that @MNPSDirector was told about sexual harassment allegations against one of his friends, but did not order an HR investigation. #MeToo 4/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
How about another reason? A second victim whose sexual harassment allegations were ignored -- the principal wasn't placed on leave -- until after our investigation. #MeToo 5/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
What about the lawsuits from the alleged victims -- all of them people of color -- that could end up costing Metro taxpayers a lot of money? #MeToo 6/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
Don't forget another serial offender who was actually promoted by @MNPSDirector #MeToo 7/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
Or what about MNPS telling employees that they could make anonymous complaints, while saying they didn't investigate anonymous complaints? #MeToo 8/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
Then, there's the $100k being spent on a law firm to investigate how MNPS has handled sexual harassment investigations. Declaring victory before the report is back? #MeToo 9/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
"Why are we so stuck?" Another reason: #MeToo 10/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
For the record, that brings us up to lawsuits from four alleged victims -- all people of color #MeToo 11/
Oh, in a nearly unprecedented move, Metro lawyers said a lot of the allegations in the lawsuits against MNPS are "admitted." #MeToo 12/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
That led some school board members to question why they had been told there was nothing to the allegations. #MeToo 13/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
Then, there was the MNPS letter to one of the victims confirming that she had been sexually harassed. #MeToo 14/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
But there's more! A fifth person -- also a person of color -- filed a lawsuit over dysfunction in @MNPSDirector's HR administration! #MeToo 15/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
And don't forget that there were allegations of one of the harassers misspending MNPS money -- allegations that were ignored by @MNPSDirector's team #MeToo 16/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
What about questions about @MNPSDirector saving the job of a teacher who got into a physical confrontation with a student, also a person of color? #MeToo 17/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
Or failing to make sure that his administration properly reported educator misconduct to the state? #MeToo 18/ newschannel5.com/news/newschann…
