1) Let’s talk about a @washingtonpost piece by @ishaantharoor, running a talking point used by all known apologists/lobbyists working for the regime in #Iran.
The #IRGC terrorist “designation may add further fuel to the fires flaring across the Middle East.”
2) @ishaantharoor claims to cite “experts” for his piece.
The first such “expert” is @hdagres, a known #Iran apologist/lobbyist.
Dagres is quite fond of Zarif & the appeasement approach vis-à-vis Tehran’s mullahs.
3) @hdagres is also known to run talking points of @jabdi & @tparsi, current & former presidents of @NIACouncil, #Iran’s leading lobby group in the U.S.
4) And isn’t it interesting how @lsarsour is quite fond of @hdagres, @tparsi, @NIACouncil & their other friends.
I’m sure Sarsour is quite fond of the murderous mullahs’ regime in #Iran.
“…the U.S. designation forecloses the remote prospect of rapprochement between the Trump administration and the Islamic Republic, goads the Iranians into taking provocative action,…”
Let’s review his hypocrisy.
8) @ishaantharoor is calling for “rapproachement” with the regime of #Iran, known as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.
Tehran established the Lebanese Hezbollah back in 1982 & has funded this terrorist entity for over 37 years. thenational.ae/world/the-amer…
9) The regime in #Iran has funded & supported the Assad regime in #Syria with tens of billions of dollars, if not hundreds of billions.
15) The next “expert” cited by @ishaantharoor is none other than @mashabani, another known #Iran apologist/lobbyist who regularly writes for @AlMonitor. iraniansforum.com/lobby/index.ph…
16) @mashabani was invited by @CNN where he repeated more of the talking points he received from Tehran.
17) @ishaantharoor then cites @JarretBlanc, a former Obama administration official who argues:
“The IRGC is already one of the most heavily sanctioned entities in the world, and this designation will impose no practical new limitations on them.”
18) If @JarrentBlanc’s argument is correct, why is @tparsi screaming his head off?
19) Here @ishaantharoor blows his cover by parroting a concern of #Iran’s regime:
“Trump’s decision to scrap American commitments to the 2015 nuclear deal..."
20) Now, let’s look at who else is very concerned about the #IRGC terror designation.
@Ilhan @IlhanMN
21) More “concerned” individuals are @DEsfandiary, @yarbatman, @NegarMortazavi & @RozitaRiazati, other known #Iran regime apologists/lobbyists.
22) And inside #Iran, members of the regime’s Majlis (parliament), including those claiming to be “reformists,” were seen wearing #IRGC uniforms today.
Reminder:
Majlis members are not "MPs" & do not represent the Iranian people.
23) Following #IRGC's terrorist designation, members of the regime's Majlis (parliament) were seen wearing green IRGC uniforms & chanting "Death to America."
Again, Majlis members are not "MPs" & do not represent the Iranian people.
24) BTW, @ishaantharoor is not very fond of me.
25) Conclusion:
Yours to make.
I leave you with this question:
Does #Iran’s #IRGC deserve to be designated as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” (FTO)?
CORRECTION:
@JarrettBlanc
Sorry for that typo.
26) ADDENDUM:
If you want to know who doesn't care that #Iran's #IRGC has killed at least 600+ American soldiers in Iraq, here's a short list.
