Here is what EVERY Ethiopian should know about 1956, the Baath party and the straits of Bab El Mandeb.
It's time to blow your minds:

First let's let the numbers speak for themselves:
You can clearly see that 93.12% of Ethiopians are under 55. Meaning they were not born or, at most, 10 years old when Haile Selassie was dethroned.
No Ethiopian activist on Social Media, or otherwise, has lived during Haile Selassie or Menelik reign. Forget Menelik,
if you were born when Haile Selassie was deposed you would be 45 years old now. It is a MATHEMATICAL FACT that everyone using the past as a springboard for hate were NOT victims themselves nor have they meet IN PERSON any victim of the alleged past atrocities.
I repeat 93.12% of Ethiopians have no personal nor LITERAL second-hand stories of alleged historical atrocities to share.
What 93.12% of today’s Ethiopians have lived is the Mengistu era of “ኢትዮጰያ ትቅደም” , that is, “Ethiopia First!”, where national pride was amped to the max or the Meles Era where Ethiopia collapsed into a Federalism of ethnic enclaves.
But why, then, is Ethiopia so divided along ethnic lines over HISTORICAL events that NONE of us have lived rather than the ones we lived during DERG or EPRDF?
For this you must understand one political ideology that began in Syria which later became a political party: Ba’athism.
Ba’athism is an Arab nationalist ideology that promotes the development and creation of a unified Arab state, among other things it includes Pan-Arabism and Arab Socialism principles.
On its own, the ideology is not a threat to Ethiopia. But then 1956 happened. In 1956 Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal previously held by Britain, giving control of the canal to Arabs. The Suez canal, finished in 1892, had already transformed the Red Sea from being a pointless
dead end into the one of the MOST IMPORTANT commerce trade route connecting asian and western market. But even more importantly OIL! By 1955, petroleum accounted for half of the canal's traffic, and, in turn, two thirds of Europe's oil passed through it.
The Arabs began to call the Red Sea the “Arab Lake”. Except for one problem: the strait of BAB EL MANDEB. Ethiopia had a commanding presence with the long Eritrean coastline and inherently became a thorn to the “Arab Lake” dream.
You can clearly see if war against the Middle East broke out, Ethiopia was in a strategic position to disrupt 3-5 million barrels of oil movement per DAY at Bab El-Mandeb.
Which meant Ethiopia must be neutralized, but How? Hold onto your seats, for what you are about to read will shock you:
This is Article 7 of the Baath constitution written in 1947, not amended till this day!
You can read it all at baath-party.org/index.php?opti…
If you are confused where this Arab Sea is, here is Somali president Said explaining what it is :

Have you never wondered why there is no “Liberation Front” that predates 1956 or the Baath Party. Ethnic Liberation Fronts were simply the overreaching arm of Oil rich countries

Here is a review with Derg vice chairman Atnafu

full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
To further dispel any doubt, here is ELF spokesman Saleh
Othman on the greater Arab vision and why ELF really exists to break Imperial control over “Arab Oil” and their dream to become a Third power.
full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
Oh, but it gets worse...so much more worse
Here is ELF spokesman Osman requesting Syria to coordinate “Propaganda” Efforts with the ELF so that Ethiopia and Africa don’t think ELF is a pan Arabism militant movement.
full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
From their it gets...even worse still

The president of Somali Siad promising help to PLF and “Galla” dissidents (i.e OLF) in order to “Hasten the Collapse” of Ethiopia, which is the PRIMARY objective.

full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
Speaking of OLF if you thought their mission was to “Liberate” the Oromo people, well you’re wrong. OLF was actually created by Somali. Oromo were just a pawn used for the ultimate goal of creating “Greater Somalia”
full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
He is in fact the Leader of OLF AND the Chairman of WSLF politburo, but more importantly when asked if Oromo people should be a part of Greater Somaliland he threw all of Oromo under the bus with his diplomatic answer.
full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
In case you are wondering how big the “Greater Somalia” is:
Yes all the way to the Shoan Mountains... remember the Baath Constitution and it’s claims of Ethiopian mountains?

full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
But to be sure you understand what WSLF was fighting for and by extension OLF. Somali’s commitment has always been to Pan-Arabism

full doc:
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1…
Well, now you know why there were dozens of “Liberation Fronts” all across Ethiopia from the 60’s till 93’ when Eritrea finally seceded. All the “Liberation Fronts” magically disappeared because funding and weapons from Arab states died, their purpose having been accomplished.
So why is Ethiopia so divided along ethnic lines over HISTORICAL events that NONE of us have lived rather than the ones we lived during DERG or EPRDF? Arab Oil money has been creating and sustaining “Liberation Fronts” for decades in Ethiopia to realize their dream of ejecting
Ethiopia from the Red Sea dynamics. But there can be no “Liberation” if there is no “oppression”, so stories of victimization and oppression were created...the stories were not invented to bring a revolution the way other countries
dispose of a Dictator, it had to be along ethnic lines, demonizing the idea of “Ethiopia”, a tale in which Ethiopia IS the oppressor... because if the people's revolution simply replaced one Leader with another Ethiopian leader, Ethiopia continues to be a commanding force on the
Red Sea, like how Mengistu replaced Haile Selassie...no, the goal was to dissolve Ethiopia altogether, to “hasten the collapse”, so it was important to first destroy Ethiopia in the hearts of her children. Today even though the flow of
money and weapons from Arab states have stopped, the legacy of those stories told to recruit “Liberation” fighters still live on.

Its time to put TPLF and Ethnic-Federalist on the wall and demand answers:

Where is Shoa(Shewa)?

They dissolved Shoa to make the "Oromo State". A nation that has been anointing its own kings for CENTURIES... gone. Destroyed to make way for an "Ethnic" state based on language.
They could have made a proper federation out of all the Kingdoms of Ethiopia, why didn't they? Why choose language as a border marker? Why wipe out a thousand year history? Where is Begemeder(Gonder), why was it crushed to make the "new Amhara" state molded by "language"?
Where is Gojjam, she anointed her kings for centuries and now instead of being a federal state, squashed into the "Amhara" state. If the case is being made that Ethnic-Federalism was chosen to "preserve our history", then, by the Holy Lord, kingdoms not language is our grouping!

Is Addis Ababa's growth the victim of a political agenda?

You decide.

(lines are drawn in approximation)

This is Adama 36 year growth from '84 till 2020. No political unrest because of growth.
This is Bishoftu and Dukem growth from '86 to 2020. Dukem went from not visible on the map to merging with Bishoftu. Please note, no political unrest because of growth.
This is the 18 year growth of Jimma, from 2002 to 2020. Remember all the marches for the farmers of Jimma? There was none.

The idolization and obsession with Menelik is purely political in nature and only serves to meet the political needs of certain political parties, looking only at Menelik to understand what shaped Ethiopia is to make mockery of the rest of Oromo's history.
Whether willfully or out of naive ignorance you remove from the Oromos their true history. You fail to tell them that Iyoas I in 1755 was crowned King of Kings. You fail to tell them that his mother was Oromo, Welete Bersabe. Or how Iyoas I spoke Oromo as emperor of Ethiopia
and made it the court language. You fail to mention how Mentewab, his grandmother, gathered an army, while Wubit gathered an army from her Oromo relatives because the two women were going to "work out" their issues? Is this not the history of the Oromo people that shaped their

#oromoprotest is a case study of mental captivity.

Oromo NEVER had a country called Oromo, BUT... neither did Amhara! Nor any other ethnic group. Yet since 1991 Oromo got a Federal one. Unlike many in SNNPR.
Oromo was NEVER united with a single Government, neither was Amhara. Just as Oromo was Borona, Guji, Arsi, etc, so "Amhara" was Gojam, Gonder, etc...EACH WITH ITS OWN KING.
Menelik, Haile Selassie etc are "King of Kings", not just their own "Ethnic" group, but all of Ethiopia.
The King of Kings included the Amharas, like Menelik II, the Tigrays, like Johannes IV...AND EVEN OROMOS. Yes, Oromos, with Iyoas the first in 1755.

The Yejju Oromo ruled during the “Era of Princes” from GONDAR itself and OROMO WAS THE LANGUAGE OF THE COURT!

The Oromo Story they never told you. Part 1.
A critical study.

From a scholar's perspective, Oromo history is divided into two: “Documented History” and “Historical Negationism”.
“Historical Negationism” is the intentional distortion or corruption of historical records for nefarious reasons, but is fraudulently presented as legitimate Historical Revisionism.
‘Historical Revisionism’ is the process in which currently held historical understanding is redefined due to new academic findings that either disprove -or enhance with new details- current beliefs.

The goals of Historical Negationism are two folds: Image

Everything you know about the Amhara people is probably wrong. So buckle up, cause this is going to be one thrilling ride!
The “Amhara” are an incredibly mysterious people with multiple layers of complex historical identities. Chances are, you know the 1991 version of Amhara
but not the historical one. To Start off, take a look at these three maps. 1935 Haile Selassie, 1981 Derg and 1992 EPRDF.
You quickly notice that there are NO regions called Amhara...nor Oromo, Afar, Somali...except those CREATED in 1991. The reason, believe it or not, is that almost each and every one of the provinces in today's “Amhara” were NOT Amhara but actually separate Kingdom.
