1/ The Amazon forest is burning up, we’ve all heard about it by now. What can you do about it? A thread in 8 chapters. 🌳🔥👩🏼🚒💪🏾
2/ Spread the word, help raise awareness. Just like @GretaThunberg gave all of us & those in power no option but to listen and act, you can now do the same with the Amazon. Inform yourself and share the knowledge: blog.ecosia.org/brazils-amazon…
@GretaThunberg 3/ There are many organisation you can donate to to help protect animal & tree species living in the Amazon. Consider donating to the @WWF or @RnfrstAlliance , for example. Comment under this tweet for more organizations protecting the Amazon!
@GretaThunberg@WWF@RnfrstAlliance@AmazonWatch 5/ The main reason #Brazil's government is encouraging the deforestation of this and other Brazilian forests, is because the country depends on exports of meat, soy and wood/paper….
@GretaThunberg@WWF@RnfrstAlliance@AmazonWatch 6/ Decrease your paper&wood purchases. Buy only rainforest-safe products. Follow @RnfrstAlliance’s frog, f.ex. If you don’t know what that means, watch this video (also a very welcome comic relief to cope with all the devastating Amazon news):
Hey guys, we need your help! Do you have a couple of minutes to translate this thread into Español, Deutsch or Français so we can share with a larger chunk of our audience? Thanks, gracias, danke, merci! 🙏🏽

All in for Berlin 🔥 This summer, our Head of Ecosia Germany @GenicaSch launched a grant competition in our hometown: we had €250k to distribute to initiatives making Berlin greener, no matter how big or small. We're super proud to finally announce the winners!
We'll be supporting over 10 projects in total, including:
BiodiverCity Berlin, who will be planting 260 sqm of tiny forest in the north-east of the city
The student group CO2 Busters from the Technical University Berlin @TUBerlin, who are building a prototype to demonstrate new heating technologies in their neighborhood
What an excellent reminder that:
A) Headlines are for show.
B) Billionaires treat philanthropy as an investment.
C) We can't achieve climate justice without social justice.
Climate change already affects racial and economic minorities the most — so talking about climate commitments *should* involve improving the working conditions of your employees.
Not all tree planting is equal. What questions should you ask when someone claims to be planting trees? Resharing a classic from our YouTube channel
Ways you can distinguish proper tree planting from greenwashing:
Have the trees actually been put in the ground? Are they being monitored or are we dealing with a feel-good, but ultimately unrealistic pledge?
Are local communities equal partners in the project? Do the trees benefit them? Will they take care of the trees?
Putting planet before profit also means leadership that shows up to the climate strike 🔥 Come say hi to our CEO @Christian_KrolI and COO @OelsWolfgang if you’re in Berlin!
