#LFC manager Jürgen Klopp is Germany's coach of the year and after spoke to the German magazine kicker about the goals this season.
"We are not the top favourite in the #ChampionsLeague. #ManCity are once again a favourite. They are very good. In the Premier League City are above everyone, they have a top combination with their coach and their squad," Klopp said.
Klopp likes to call his players mentality monsters but believes that van Dijk, in particular, still has room to grow. "He is world class but setbacks influence his game to much. Others handle that better like Alexander-Arnold and Robertson. They play their game no matter what.
"You can't allow yourself to develop doubts. Look at #Bayern's mentality, they were nine points behind #BVB but it didn't matter to them. We had that mentality last season too but need to once again develop it. It is the first generation that has won something," Klopp said.
"I will take a sabbatical after my time at #LFC" Klopp said when asked what he will do after his contract ends at the club.
"When I decide for myself that I can't give everything anymore I will quit. Who can say three years from now whether he can do everything or nothing? When that happens I will take a break for a year, that decision will come at the end of the season," Klopp said.
#LFC coach Klopp, however, is positive that he can find that energy to continue. "The likelihood is high that my energy levels will be where I need them to do this job."
Klopp also criticised the amount of competitions players have to play in. "At one point the public will say: 'I am not going to watch that. In the past we had three weeks in the winter without football. ... To many people are trying to get their piece of the pie."
Klopp is also against the creation of a European Super League. "I hope that competition never comes," he said.
As for new signings. "The time was not right for a 30-man squad. A team like that has to be moderated. You can't tell some that they play Wednesdays and others that they play Saturdays. When someone doesn't have the chance to play he loses quality."
Once again Klopp would rather see the amount of games reduced. "The current calendar isn't working. It needs to be reformed." In particular, the Nations League is a competition that Klopp considers a needless addition.
