Communicorp, the radio group owned by Denis O’Brien, has banned all staff, journalists and contributors of The Currency from appearing as a guest, panellist or contributor across any of its stations. This includes Newstalk and Today FM.

The group has taken the decision on the grounds that The Currency is a “competitor platform”. Producers were informed of the move today, hours after we went live.

The Currency’s editor @ipkehoe had been due to appear on the Last Word with @m_cooper to discuss his 10,000-word investigation into the Quinn family money trail. Unfortunately, this has now been cancelled at the behest of station management.
