#Breaking Patrick Frazee found guilty of 1st degree murder in death of his fiancé Kelsey Berreth. Jury only needed about 3 hours. @KDVR
Arsenal of Colorado and national media outside the courthouse, awaiting reaction from both defense and prosecution. @KDVR
Frazee found guilty on all 6 counts, including murder, solicitation of murder and tampering with evidence. @KDVR#kelseyBerreth#PatrickFrazee
Frazee kept the same expression he had all day, and I’m told throughout the trial. He blinked twice when the judge read they found him guilty. @KDVR
We are waiting on the sentencing which will take place within the next 20 minutes. @KDVR
Update: Frazee will serve the maximum sentence: life without parole, plus 156 years. @KDVR
District Attorney Dan May and prosecution team walking out now to speak to the media. @KDVR
“It’s a sad day that all justice can do is hold Patrick Frazee accountable.” Dan May says it’s a shame Kelsey Berreth can’t be here today. @KDVR
“She did not deserve this. This was senseless and will haunt us on the prosecution team.” -Dan May @KDVR
Lead prosecutor Jennifer Viehman says “It was an honor to fight for justice for Kelsey.” Very emotional year for this team. @KDVR
Our @vicentearenastv asked the lead prosecutor about seeing Kelsey’s father in the courtroom. She said it was indescribable to see the anguish on his face, couldn’t help but cry at times. @KDVR
I asked May if Frazee could face any additional charges for solicitation of murder, after prosecutors allege he asked an inmate to have several key witnesses killed. May says it’s an ongoing investigation. @KDVR
Assistant District Attorney Beth Reed says the character and demeanor Frazee showed during the trial is consistent with sociopathic behavior. @KDVR
UPDATE: Dan May says they are currently searching a new location for Berreth’s body. They haven’t given up. @KDVR

Over the weekend hundreds partied at @CUBoulder with little social distancing or mask wearing. Students are calling for CU to go full remote before a major outbreak. @KDVR
A spokesperson for @bouldercohealth issued the following statement calling these gatherings “unacceptable and frankly unlawful.” So far the county health department hasn’t issued any warnings or fines to @CUBoulder.
So far @CUBoulder has found 16 positive #COVID19 cases through its medical services. This doesn’t include outside testing. They’re working on wastewater testing to be able to detect any community spread. @KDVR
Council now discussing ahead of a vote. Councilwoman Angela Lawson says she will NOT be voting for Wilson. She calls the process political. She supports Chief Wilson, but wanted Marcus Dudley to be the pick.
Councilwoman Bergan says she supports @APDChiefWilson, saying she truly cares about @AuroraGov and the residents, and is willing to make changes for accountability within @AuroraPD.
THREAD: Recently got these numbers from our #ProblemSolvers CORA request.
Since 2018, @DenverPolice has spent roughly $584,000 on less-than-lethal munitions. In 2020, the department spent more than 2X on these items than the previous two years combined. @KDVR
2/ According to Denver administrators, @DenverPolice doesn't budget for these items. DPD purchases them as needed, and the cost is absorbed in the budget as an expense. @KDVR
3/ As much as these expenses look large, as I previously reported, @DenverPolice spent more than $2.6 million in overtime covering the first few weeks of unrest through the #GeorgeFloyd protests downtown. @KDVR
