Our favorite part of 2019? Watching the @NRA’s meltdown 😎
Check out our top 5 favorite fails from the past year👇
1️⃣ NRA-funded politicians got voted out on their home turf! For the first time in a generation, we flipped the VA legislature and elected a gun sense majority after *20 years* of NRA control. vox.com/2019/11/6/2095…
2️⃣ The Senate released a report outlining how the NRA coordinated with Russian spies (yes, really!) to interfere in the 2016 election. Pro tip: it’s tough to claim to be patriots if you help a foreign country manipulate our democracy. npr.org/2019/09/27/764…
3️⃣ The NRA’s propaganda machine ran out of money and got fired by its own PR company 😂
From racist lies to the hateful conspiracy theories about survivors like us, we DEFINITELY won’t miss the “hot” takes about us. rollingstone.com/politics/polit…
4️⃣ We wrote a letter that helped spark a @NewYorkStateAG investigation into their *aggressively corrupt* finances. Their years of paying executives millions and buying fancy private homes, while paying NOTHING in taxes, are almost over 🎉thehill.com/blogs/blog-bri…
5️⃣ The gun lobby is the worst for many reasons, but denying justice to the families of victims is at the top. Now, Sandy Hook families will get their day in court. We must hold gun makers accountable – that’s why it's in our #PeacePlan! reuters.com/article/us-usa…
We’re going to fight like hell in 2020. The NRA’s deadly, guns-everywhere agenda is losing ground and we need to keep the pressure on. If you haven’t already, sign our #PeacePlan and ask 5 friends to do the same. 🗣marchforourlives.com/peace-plan/

What’s a #SwingState, and why does it matter? Every vote matters, no matter where you are. But thanks to the electoral college, a few states are critical to win. These swing states can push a candidate over the electoral finish line—and they’re the ones that flip between both parties. 🗳️
In recent years, swing states have been decided by tight margins. Young people hold the key to making a difference in these races. We saw this in 2020 when #Trump lost some of these states by as little as 10,000 votes. #SwingTheVote
In places like Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, the difference between winning and losing came down to youth turnout. This year will be no different. We can't leave any voter uncontacted or any door unknocked.
The Supreme Court’s decision in NYSRPA v. Bruen is dangerous and deadly.
The unfairly nominated, blatantly partisan justices put the Second Amendment over our lives.
The blood of the American people who die from needless gun violence will be on their corrupt hands.
This ruling is not about responsible gun ownership, it’s about universal gun ownership. It enriches the gun lobby that paid to confirm conservative justices.
This is blatant corruption.
The Supreme Court is stripping the ability of states to enact policies that are *proven* to save lives. This will lead to the proliferation of guns in every major U.S. city at a time when we need the complete opposite.
It’s been 3 years since the March For Our Lives. Today, we planned on posting a different message, one of celebration and gratitude, but 9 mass shootings in the past 7 days are painful reminders that we don’t have the luxury to celebrate progress. (thread)
Our country is in a constant cycle of violence and apathy, and it’s hard to watch more communities grieve when all we wanted 3 years ago, and all we want today, is for people to live free from gun violence.
We mourn the lives stolen in Boulder, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, and every city across America, and share the sorrow of those who carry a new title: survivor.
March For Our Lives is on a journey to truly support and center the communities most impacted by gun violence.
Shifting resources through mutual aid is one way of doing that.
BIPOC communities have been affected by gun violence the most and have organized to fight it the longest. But they have not received equal resources or national support. We can’t end the epidemic of gun violence if these communities are left behind.
We just launched a national mutual aid & grants program to support BIPOC communities facing everyday gun violence and de-center whiteness in the GVP space. This is about rising up in solidarity and acknowledging the privilege our movement was built upon.
Happy #BlackHistoryMonth! While people like Marjorie Taylor Greene fail their constituents, we’re reminded of the real folks doing real work in GA communities to make a change.
