Bernie Sanders as President would be a disaster for the Democratic Party, and as great as one for the country and the global community.

He lacks every possible trait that makes a person an effective leader. He has neither the temperament nor the intellectual depth required.

In fact, I believe that Sanders could easily become Trump II. While they share little in the way of common belief, they are remarkably similar in tone and temperament. I have no doubt in fact that Sanders would use Trump's illegal administrative example as precedent.

I can't begin to convey how dangerous that would be for the United States going. Though Sanders is not the lawless villain that Trump is, he could argue that Trump's Presidency and his acts during that time establish precedent and therefore affirm legality. Specious? D'uh.

In the preposterous universe where Sanders won the Democratic nomination, and then went on to win the presidency, his team and his supporters would very likely misread a victory as a mandate for the entire mythological revolution.

It would be a grave error.

But, make no mistake, locked into any victory his challengers manage will reside the wholesale rejection of Trump the man and his vulgar, dystopian view of the world, and will not necessarily be an expression of true support for any other philosophy.

This is important.

How do I know Sanders will do these things? Because, he has already done them. We saw in Iowa, for instance, his willingness to reject reality outright.

And not for the first time.

After Iowa, Sanders would claim a "decisive victory" despite having lost the caucus delegate count to @PeteButtigieg.

This is a problematic claim for many Clinton supporters since by that standard Clinton should have claimed victory over Obama in 2008 and Trump in 2016.
