Back at Edinburgh High Court for day two of the trial of former Scottish First Minster Alex Salmond.
Proceedings set to begin at 10am
Expecting to hear further evidence from Witness H (who cannot be named for legal reasons)
You can catch up with yesterday's proceedings below. bylinetimes.com/2020/03/09/the…
Now in the media annexe, as mentioned yesterday it is a usual procedure for the court to be cleared of the public, and all but two of the media when an alleged victim of a sexual crime is giving evidence.
The rest of us are watching a video feed. #Salmond

As .@LouiseMensch is having a wee go at me, a story.
In 2014 I was live tweeting a press misconduct case at the Old Bailey, and Ms Mensch angrily contacted me to demand why I was only reporting the prosecution case with no mention of the defence.

I had to gently remind her that I was reporting the Crown's opening address to the jury, which doesn't generally contain the defence position.
:)
I'm making light of it now, but then I was just starting out in court reporting, and having such a high profile person, a former MP, attacking you in public for being biased was quite frightening.
Hearing a rumour we might be getting a verdict in the Julian #Assange extradition appeal in early December.
Not definite of course
The magistrate's court has already ruled that Mr #Assange should not be extradited to the USA as, due to his mental health condition, and the conditions he would be held in, such an action would be "oppressive "
The American government has appealed this to the High Court.

A two day hearing was held on the issue last month before the Lord Chief Justice.
You can read full reports of those proceedings, and all the previous hearings here. assangecourt.report
(For those that don't know Mr Newton-Dunn said I was not a "bone fide journalist,' on national TV when I was reporting the prorogation case from the Court of Session, so I was just being a bit catty there)
:)
I don't speak Latin, but I assume "bone fide," means "making up stories for money."
