“Who is to implement the lockdown? it’s the state government’s job to implement it.

Can the Union government on its own do so? The answer is No.

Did the prime minister talk to any of the state governments before unilaterally announcing it? NO.”

~ Chattisgarh CM @bhupeshbaghel
quite like #demonetization, this centralized govt decision was made first,
& the planning process with executive orders were put in motion much after

States were clueless & were found reacting to situation after the PM’s announcement.

@RohanV @samzsays

Policy rarely takes needs of the poor into account, but now we see complete lack of Empathy

Those who've suffered most under lockdown depicted as anti-national villains who don’t think of the common good

No methodical & humane response, not even a plan

#Covid_19 is a disaster that came with prior warning;
therefore did not warrant an arbitrary, unplanned & ill-prepared decision

little imagination or application to work out a plan of action based on compassion & understanding of conditions on the ground

thehindu.com/opinion/op-ed/…
authorities had enough time &resources to avoid a lethally mismanaged lockdown

Instead there has been complete lack of concern over the human cost, which has been colossal

@harsh_mander @bombaywallah @nikhilmkss @RohanV @samzsays @OmairTAhmad @harsh8848

Narendra Modi gave people 3 days’ notice to beat pots & pans

But for the lockdown, he gave less than 4 hours

@samzsays @DilliDurAst

Image
first, FM promised free foodgrains 36 hours AFTER lockdown

Now, senior official at NAFED says: it could take ‘weeks’ before the pulses actually start reaching people.

Govt delayed orders for PPE equipment by 5 weeks

When govt finally realised gravity of situation & placed orders for the equipments, the sudden & ill-planned lockdown has made it impossible for them to manufacture PPE equipment

@MeghnadBose93 @RohanV

The image of migrants trudging along empty highways in scorching sun for 100s of kms to try &get back to their villages is an illustration of the haste &lack of preparedness behind Lockdown

Commonly available drugs:
(minimum side effects)

Bromhexine+Omeprazole
Famotidine
Loperamide
VitaminsABCD+Zinc
Quercetin+Bromelain

Colchicine trial ongoing

Combine with 1 among these prescription drugs:
Doxycycline/Indomethacin/Dipyridamole/Ciclesonide

Commonly available drugs: (...
Loperamide is the odd one out here.

I put it because it is non-prescription & there is A research paper which suggests that it could disrupt the Cholesterol Synthesis Pathway

Prescription alternatives would be Fluvostatin + Losarton

as long as corona virus doesn't cross throat it isn't serious

once it infects lungs, most (except children, pregnant women) develop cytokine storm immune reaction

Old, sick people will suffer. Need lots of Oxygen (ventilators & emergency care etc)

Hope govt paying oxygen bills

This will impact old people, sick/immune compromised people & vulnerable people without access to medical care

Only preventive option is SOCIAL DISTANCING
