1/ Indian amb to China @VikramMisri did an interview with @CGTNOfficial. Was supposed to be about 70 yrs of Sino-Indian relations but a fair bit of it is about #COVID19 response & potential cooperation
2/ Indian amb to China @VikramMisri made it a point to say a couple of times in the CGTN intvw that when China needed it, India had provided 15-16 tons of medical assistance as "our gift" + GoI "facilitated" China's commercial procurement of equipment/supplies from India
3/ Now that India is dealing w/ #COVID19, Amb. to China @VikramMisri told CGTN it was commercially procuring PPE/testing kits/ventilators from China. Said priority is "to source these in a stable & orderly manner from here, & also for us to keep our freight & cargo lines open"
4/ Indian amb. to China @VikramMisri noted that #COVID19 has adversely affected the calendar of 70 events planned in China & India to celebrate 70 yrs of India-China ties, but said the 2 countries had come up with a logo, which will be revealed shortly.
5/5 This is 1 reason why you're going to see the Indian govt trying to keep the China relationship stable in the near term (and not hear them calling it "the Chinese virus" -- or I suspect even the "Wuhan virus")
