President Trump signed an executive order this past Saturday, April4, establishing a new Committee, the “Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector.”

Here is the purpose of the committee, which will also work with the FCC. 
The Attorney General’s office will chair this committee.
The committee will also include the Secretaries of Defense and Homeland Security.

Basically, the entire committee, along with the FCC, will review all applications for FCC licenses by companies that are under foreign ownership and/or control.
