The CCP reported that patients started feeling symptoms as early as December 8, 2020. These were the 41 original cases in Wuhan, though we still don’t know if any of them was actually the very first case. 
And right here in the same article, it says that “most cases” were involved in some way with the market.

Ahh, so a report in The Lancet (a peer-reviewed medical journal) said that a significant number of the early Wuhan patients didn't have a link to the market.
