Question about the #sheildedpatientlist #SPL from GPs. This thread gives some detail of the #GPES extraction done as part of this process on @TPP_SystmOne
Q: “From the list of patients in my practice, we are left wondering why many patients are on the list. We can see the “free text” against the code, but in many cases it does not give an actual reason. Also, it seems quite a number of patients have been missed from the list ...
From the letter, I understand that Part 2 of the process was to extract primary care data centrally. IT WOULD BE ENORMOUSLY HELPFUL IF WE COULD BE DIRECTED TO A CLINICAL REPORT WITHIN TPP SYSTMONE that we could then use to understand why the patient is on the SPL ...
Please can you advise as to whether this clinical report is available within TPP S1 and if so, where it can be found. If not, whether it would be possible for it to be created?”
Answer below:
A: The reports described in ‘part 2’ were a modified set of seasonal flu reports extracted via GPES. The extracted data was used by NHS Digital. I am not sure if any patients were actually added as a result of this extract (and it is not indicated in the extract) but ...
I am aware that it provided evidence / reassurance that the majority of the SPL patients are in the seasonal flu group (but not the other way round).
It is agreed that the CMO defined SPL group is difficult to identify in primary care data.
And also acknowledged that the secondary care data is of variable quality since it was not designed for this purpose.
The additional information is not reportable in SystmOne as it was supplied as a textual field.
The reports for the COVID19 At Risk GPES reports can be found by going to Reporting > Clinical Reporting > System Wide > COVID19 At Risk.
2 reports:
C19CC001 - can be ignored
C19CC002 - The number of registered patients with at least one at risk clinical code or the 'requires influenza virus vaccination' clinical code in their pa
