Given the responses here, I think I could turn a camera on myself knitting & fussing over my dogs & cats (truly boring according to my family) & there’d be more interest. The delta between listening to Cuomo or Fauci bring info & Trump campaigning every afternoon is a big one.
Coming back to Twitter after cooking dinner for my family with our farmers’ market haul, it’s clear to me that #NoThanks is the right approach to Trump’s daily campaign rallies, inartfully disguised as press conferences.

Just a little round up of stories relevant to us if you in Alabama. Remember, #SweetHomeStayHome, even if you aren't under the shelter in place order in Jefferson County. Alabama still doesn't have a stay at home directive from the Governor.
Yesterday, Jared Kushner told us the national stockpile is not meant to help out the states. Apparently he was serious. Montgomery County received 5,000 rotted masks from the stockpile.
There are grim predictions about what the situation will be in Alabama in 2 weeks due to late measures to control spread & limited resources, particularly acute in rural areas.

Secy Pompeo sent US stockpiles of PPE to China, while he & Trump publicly denied COVID-19 would affect us. That’s why doctors are reusing masks meant for single use & law enforcement is going without. It’s why communities are organizing home-sewers to produce substitutes.
More detail on the advice about handling early notice of a potential pandemic that Trump ignored.

1/ Jill’s points are all well taken. As I discussed, people must not be released from jails & prisons absent provision for a 14 day quarantine to insure they don’t carry the virus home & long term resources-housing, medical care etc. I echo her concerns about how Trump would
2/ implement releases but the pandemic poses severe risks to people who are incarcerated in overcrowded facilities & to the men & women who go to work there every day & return home to their families. We can’t do nothing. We must have a smart, fair approach here.
3/ And, many thanks to @AliVelshi & his team, who were willing to raise this issue for public consideration. It’s not always popular to advocate for incarcerated people but DOJ has an obligation to protect people in federal custody as do the states for theirs.
