First London. COVID deaths Pretty obvious ..that strong blue line reaching for the skies.

WHY were the govt shooting to make ANY ventilators that - as @AlisonPittard says - wouldn't be any use? Median time on a vent from #COVID19 is 3-4 days, she tells me. What use hours?

She would have told the Government “Don’t bother”

This makes me so angry.
Quite apart from the fact that such basic machines result in poorer outcomes, per ICU specialists, but Setting a specification so low the machines are largely pointless it burns through manufacturer goodwill. They work to deliver the spec only to discover goalposts move.
It feels like there’s a load of wide boys in charge who care more about pretending to do good than actually doing good.

Makes one wonder WHICH experts they consulted if not the Faculty of ICU Specialists.

HOSPITAL Deaths. 761 (12,868 total). 13.06%

Slightly fewer HOSPITAL deaths but deaths in the community n/k

The ONS/ official stats confirm 406 community deaths.

Do I believe that figure? No.

This won’t be due to the ONS covering up. Could be substantial delays. I do hope it isn’t GPs simply putting other causes of death when COVID symptoms present.
