It is not just on Twitter but most meat-eater take it very personal and feel guilted by the remote mention of not eating meat or raising the issue of cruelty that underpins the slaughter of animals for food. 2/9
Neither the people who eat or the people who perform the slaughter are cruel because we as a society have been conditioned to be desensitized to the process and only see animals as food. 3/9
Now that is not true for kids they love animals they see them as friends they play with animals but then we teach them that food and start witnessing the killing of their friend animals. 4/9
Humans rely on animals for food for various reasons -survival, culture or because we are made to believe we need to eat animals to get the nutrition we need. Bottomline the actual action is cruel that lacks compassion. There is no animal that willingly dies or is happy to die 5/9
They all die in pain. About morality-even though we have not defined what moral status is let's assume we have a consensus on the moral superiority of humans over non-human animals but does that translate to having the authority to take the life of another sentient being. 6/9
Especially given that we can't give life. Secondly, as the only being on the planet (that we know of) with moral superiority shouldn't the very characters allow us to make the morally right decision? 7/9
As beings that understand pain and suffering, humans should be able to avoid intentionally causing suffering. If we take tigers or lion they kill their prey first before eating because they are hunters. 8/9
Scavengers, on the other hand, don't even bother if their prey is dead or not they tear up the flesh even while the prey is alive. We are better than all animals hence have the obligation to make the morally superior decision. So I hope 9/9
