@kaitainjones @gartmartin9 ... it does not matter if the lockdown is mandated or voluntary. If they adhere it without the mandate, they will wreck the economy as everyone else. If they don't adhere to it, the #COVID19 will run rampant and will have problems that others had.

@kaitainjones @gartmartin9 Point is, for certain level of social distancing you get certain % of herd immunity and certain % of dead and maimed (yes, maimed is the best description to what #COVID19 does to many heavily afflicted survivors).
@kaitainjones @gartmartin9 As shown in any decent study, the rate of dead and maimed is very high per each % of achieved herd immunity, and if you let it run rampant you may never get it back under control, and many strategies that will be available to others will be useless to you.
@kaitainjones @gartmartin9 For example, let's play with numbers: supposedly Sweden comes out of it with 3x more immunized citizens and 3x times more deaths than Norway. So they will have for example 3% immunity instead of 1% and triple the deaths. And how is that a success?
@kaitainjones @gartmartin9 Finally, all this easytalking by swedish bureaucrats has caused people to be extremely careless in contact with vulnerable people: many swedish carers of the elderly do not use PPE - because they have been told it is not necessary. This is perhaps reason for many deaths.
@kaitainjones @gartmartin9 So given the casual treatment of protection of elderly I would not be surprised if sweden gets 3x herd immunity of their neighbors (e.g. 3% instead of 1%) and pays 6x price for that (in the number of deaths).
@kaitainjones @gartmartin9 And I am pretty sure "we make no mistakes, we are the government" swedish bureaucrats will claim this as a success. With plenty of gullible and outright stupid journalists out there they may even convince someone...
